Application & Help Desk Technician

The primary purpose of this role is to support the organization’s computer and communication needs by assisting in the development and implementation of solutions and processes in order to ensure and maintain the integrity, security, quality and satisfactory performance of the company.

Essential Functions

  • Create and maintain user accounts, regulating and monitoring system access to ensure the security, integrity and confidentiality of information, processes and systems
  • Use computers and computer systems, including hardware and software, to program, set up functions, and enter data or process information
  • Creates user documentation, instructions and technical procedures for new and existing applications including user guides, etc.  
  • Maintain documentation of schedules and logs of all expected data files received from and sent to BCA clients and vendors and current status and details of each file
  • Ensure timely processing of data files and completion of deliverables according to established schedules
  • Track and document changes to functional and business specifications
  • Review and analyze data and performance indicators to locate code problems and correct errors by correcting codes
  • Leverage data to analyze business strategies, recommend improvements and identify defects and/or areas of concern
  • Ensure the integrity and security of all business applications and data by following strict industry and security requirements
  • Aid in application and/or process development by coordinating requirements and activities; contribute to team meetings; assist in development and troubleshoot production problems
  • Assists in the development and maintenance of account flow processes, strategies and information reporting through the knowledge and use of FACS and integrated modules such as Tactics, Report Writer and Enable
  • Assist with implementation and support of business information systems as well as onboarding clients across multiple departments
  • Monitor relevant system access points for potential security risks, reporting any concerns to the Business Systems Analyst
  • Consult with others in the Information Technology Department to design and develop automated business systems
  • Maintain positive working relationships with internal departments, creditor clients, outside vendors and industry colleagues. 
  • Develop a culture where end users, including the organization’s clients, are customers of the IT department
  • Ensure all client deliverables are completed timely and correctly
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

  • Customer-oriented focus  
  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products, databases and remote control
  • Good understanding of computer systems, mobile devices and other tech products
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve basic technical issues
  • Proficiency in English
  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, database creation and maintenance, designing forms and other office procedures and terminology
